Duke of Edinburgh's Award Weekend

An enjoyable and successful weekend was had by all students undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award last weekend (20th-22nd June). Thirty-two year 10 students completed their bronze assessment which involved 2 nights of camping and 2 days of walking 6 hours per day. Seven year 11 students finished their silver assessment, again camping for 2 nights, but walking 7 hours per day for 3 days. Joined by 10 staff and 2 assessors, the group were completely self-sufficient, carrying all their own kit and food.

Helped by good weather, the students worked hard and were a credit to the school, with the locals commenting on how polite they were and how good it was to see them working as a team.

Congratulations to all!
