The Sky's The Limit Celebration
Selby High School has gained national recognition for the GCSE achievements of its students.
Students from the school are pictured releasing balloons as part of the school’s ‘The Sky’s The Limit Celebration’ following the SSAT’s recognition of its outstanding achievements. The helium filled gold, silver, white, maroon and black balloons, each carry a tag, which when returned to school will entitle the finder to a cash prize.
Selby High School’s 2013 examination results placed it in the top 18% of schools nationally and the success has been praised by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust.
Over the Easter break, Selby High School Specialist School for the Arts and Science, received a letter from Sue Williamson, the Chief Executive of the SSAT which commended the school for exceptional year-on-year achievement and for some of the fastest improving GCSE results in the country. The school has qualified for an SSAT Educational Outcomes Award.
A recent in-depth analysis of official Department for Education data on all state-funded schools in England by SSAT, the national schools’ membership organisation for improvement and collaboration, identified Selby High School Specialist School for the Arts and Science’s success.
The school has been invited to receive their award at a regional celebration ceremony hosted by SSAT at Dixons Allerton Academy in Bradford on 02 June.
