Year 9 students enjoy Enterprise Day

Selby High School became a hub of enterprising activity on Tuesday 3rd March as year 9 students took up the challenge of designing a brand new music venue for Yorkshire.  This was a chance for year 9 to work as enterprising businesses, taking on roles of Marketing Directors and Creative Designers in order to compete for the overall top spot.

Staff and students worked hard all day, creating a sketch book of marketing materials, business plans and designs of possible venues to present to the judges at the end of the day.  The concerts that were planned to open these venues ranged from hosting the very best of Yorkshire’s musical talent to incorporating the best comedy acts of the moment.

The competition was fierce with some groups going to the extent of creating raps and performing dances in order to sway the judges’ decision.

A huge congratulations to Mrs Butler’s group whose team working skills throughout the day alongside a flawless pitch to the audience caught the eye of the judges!
